How to Have a Successful Avon Vendor Event

The first thing you need to do is find a venue to set up your display.  I recommend starting with a free or low price table fee.  
You don't need a lot of inventory to have a successful event.  All you need are brochures, flyers or business cards and a few items for cash and carry.
You can get fancy with gift baskets, and more products, but the most important thing is to have fun, meet new people, and get contact info for your new sales and recruiting prospects.  

You can find Avon videos at your representative website, and display them on a tablet or laptop at your table.  That can help relieve shyness or uncertainty about what to say to your visitors.

You can also use games to make your display more fun and interactive.  
You can fill a container with lipstick samples and have people guess the number.  Have them provide their contact info with their guess, and award a prize end of the show for the closest guess. This is a variation on the idea of a door prize drawing. 

I found a small prize wheel on eBay for a low price, but it does the job, and attracts a lot of kids, young and old.  I use prizes that cost me less than a dollar, for example lip balms from the Avon Outlet Book, travel size hand creams, and deluxe samples.  I put a label on each prize with my contact information.  The idea is not to make money from this activity, but to get Avon products into the hands of consumers so they can try them, and contact you to order. 

Last but not least, the most important part of a vendor show is what you do after the event.  When you deliver the prize to your winner, you have the opportunity to connect with that person and offer to follow up with future campaign books.  And, you have contact information from all the people who did not win the prize.  You can call or email them to offer an Avon book or samples.  You can also get permission to add them to your email list.  Your Avon representative website has an automated email program to help you follow up with your customers.

Avon says, "Anytime, Anywhere, Always Ask."   Do your prospects need quality skin care products at a reasonable price point?  Do they need a way to earn more money?  Do they want a discount on their Avon orders?  A vendor event gives you the perfect time and place to ask guests about their Avon needs.

No Filter, Just Magix!

What makes these products really magical is that they are flexible in their design for all skin types and colors. Magix Prime was introduced a few years ago, and is now re-formulated and re-packaged.  I don't notice any difference in the performance of the product. It goes on colorless, and sets up a smooth, matte surface for applying makeup.  It is currently the only Avon product with SPF that is vegan.  It's suitable to use on its own as a sunscreen.  I think it's a product everyone can use, regardless of gender. 

Magix Tint tinted moisturizer is the second product of the collection.  It is available in six "flexible" shades.  What makes the shades flexible is that the product is semi-sheer.  It blurs skin imperfections and evens skin tone without the full coverage of a foundation.  You can apply it over Magix Prime, or use it on its own.

Last but not least, is the Magix Wand foundation stick.  It's very portable, TSA friendly for travel, and comes in 16 shades.  You can use a lighter shade than your skin as a concealer, a darker shade for contour or a matching shade for all-over face foundation.  Application is build-able for medium to full coverage.

Avon Product Review: 2 -in-1 Lip Tattoo

2-in-1 Lip Tattoo...

...exceeded my expectations!

I wasn't sure what to expect of a product that was described as a lip tattoo.  I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this double-ended pen.  The fine point end outlined my lips with minimal feathering.  After the first try, I prepped the area around my mouth with foundation, and that eliminated the feathering.

The felt tip end was surprisingly easy to use, and provided good coverage.  

One of the things I like best about this product is its staying power, and the absence of a lipstick stain on my coffee cup. The full color lasted about 6 hours.  I've experimented with using a lip balm under it, and also with using a gloss over it.  I like the 2 in 1 Lip Tattoo best when it stands alone.

Dining out? Bring your Avon business with you!

This is how I share my Avon business (products AND opportunity) 

wherever I go. Whether I am traveling or dining at a local restaurant, 

I always leave an Avon book and sample pack with a generous tip.  

The $5 pictured below was more than 20%.

It is important to leave at least 20%, not just because servers work hard
for their tips, but because you want to leave a positive impression when
you are asking for a sale or for someone to join your team.

Inside of the little plastic bags, I pack samples, my business card,

and a recruiting flyer.  I try to leave samples from different product categories, and include a men's fragrance sample because I leave books and samples for men, too!

You may have noticed that there is contact information for Avon on the back of
most samples.  I always cover that with a label like the one above, so I
don't lose customers to the generic Avon contact number. The labels are
the return address size.

I never waste an Avon book. Instead, I attach a label to the front cover with my online store address, and current coupon code.  

I have to admit that it took a while to achieve results from my efforts.  The best results I've had came from diners and family restaurants.  It's always nice to see a new direct delivery customer at my representative website. I follow up by mailing a thank you card, a few samples and a current brochure.

How to Achieve President’s Club While Saving Money Everyday!

This article is designed for my team of Avon representatives.  In the spirit of many Avon reps who share their successes so that all of us may benefit, I am making this information public.

I have been a representative for a total of  12 years.  I achieved President's Club (PC) status all but my first year.  The best part of PC is that I am guaranteed 40% earnings on core products, and 25% earnings on all third-party products ( those marked in the brochure with a ❖ symbol).   I'm going to tell you how you can achieve PC every year, no matter how many people you know, or how much time or money you have to invest. And, best of all, you can save money on your household expenses.

This may seem to be too good to be true, but I am going to show you how just by using products that you currently buy retail at your grocery, department store or pharmacy, you can become your own best customer AND save money on products you and your family already use.

New representatives who haven't yet achieved PC earn commission in the form of discounts, according to the amount of their order in any given campaign. This order size amount includes sales tools, brochures and samples.

Also, in every campaign, you are entitled to purchase items from the "What's New" demo books for upcoming campaigns.  For example, when you place your Campaign 23 order, you can also order from the Campaign 24 and Campaign 25 What's New brochures.

This is just one example.  As you go through your home with an Avon brochure in hand, I'm sure you can find many other ways to save.  

One of my favorite products is the Avon senses line of hand soaps.  I keep one in each of our bathrooms, and also at the kitchen sink.    I also keep a tube of Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing and Repair Hand Cream by all the sinks for after washing.   

This happens to be specially priced in a recent Avon Book 4.2 oz. for $2.50.

The comparable product in retail stores is Neutrogena's Norwegian Formula Fragrance Free. A 2 oz. tube costs 5.99.  Let's say, for the sake of argument, that this campaign, you only have $50 in customer orders, which entitles you to a 20% discount.  Your cost for the Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing and Repair Hand Cream would be $2.  You would have to buy a little more than 2 of the Neutrogena brand to get the same amount as in one tube of Avon hand cream, and that would cost you over $12.  When you buy from your own Avon business, you save at least $10!
