1.  Avon "Senses" Bubble Bath.  Even if you don't take tub baths, Avon Bubble Bath can save you money.  I use it as a household cleaner - less than a cap-ful to a bucket of water - and you have the best solution for mopping floors.  I also use it as a laundry detergent.  1 cap-ful for small loads or soft water, 2 caps for large loads or hard/well water.  If you stock up on bubble bath when it is offered at a special price in the What's New, it costs less than Tide, and works just as well. My favorite is the Endless Ocean scent.  It makes my house and laundry smell like a resort spa.

2. 3. Find a must-have product that you can't live without, like the Beyond Color Lip Conditioner.  It's like a lip balm PLUS!  There is nothing like it to protect lips from chapping and cracking.

Making Friends with Avon: Part 3

Social Media has made it possible for many of us to find and re-connect with long lost friends.

I am so thankful for this opportunity to reminisce about old times, and even more grateful to be
able to make new memories.

One of my friends from high school is a chemist by profession, and brings a scientific

to catch up on the thirty-plus years since we had seen each other, and eventually made plans to meet.

Making Friends with Avon: Part 2

I restarted my Avon business in May of 2013.  At that time I had a wonderful neighbor of 4 years.  My husband had been her neighbor and friend for 14 years.  We visit her and her husband often during the Summer when it's nice weather to sit on the front porch, and she has looked after our home and pets when we travel.

In the Winter, months could go by without a visit or talk.  All that changed

when I brought her my first Avon brochure.  She shared her book with her

family members, and had orders for me every campaign!  Avon became

the excuse to reach out at least once a week.  I know that we shouldn't need

to have an excuse to nurture friendships, but sometimes life gets in the way.

Now I have another Avon "helper", AND more importantly, I have a friend!

Making Friends with Avon: Part 1

Back in 1990, when I became an AVON representative for the first time, my main motivation was to make and save some money without spending time away from my children. I had recently moved to a new town, and didn't have any local friends. I signed up and received my starter kit from a woman named Marion, who seemed to have more cats than I had local acquaintances. Marion told me all about her Mrs. Albee figurines, about how important it was to have many "helpers", and assured me that if she could succeed in AVON, that I could, too. I left her home feeling more confused than confident, but I was excited to begin something new. I had 10 brochures for the current campaign, and a few pieces of new representative information. 

During the following week, I shared my brochures with a neighbor, my immediate family, and a couple I met. To my surprise, one of my new acquaintances called me in a few days to give me orders from people at her workplace totaling over $100. This is something that continued every campaign for a couple years. I gave her a discount on her own order, and shared new products with her to reward her for the business she brought me. Through the course of those phone calls and order deliveries, we began talking about our lives and our children, and supported each other as single parents. 

This was the beginning of something important I learned about AVON, and about myself. This business is about high quality products that are fairly priced, that everyone can use, and that anyone can sell. More importantly, this business is about sharing the products and the opportunity with great people.

As I grew my business, I progressed from sales to recruiting new representatives. My first team member became such a good friend she brought me home cooked meals and watched my kids when I was sick.   

The first couple of years in business with Avon grew friendships that provided support and relief from the loneliness of relocation.  And I realized that the Avon business is not just about great beauty products, it is about the people I meet, and the friends I find.

Why I Use a Serum Under Moisturizer, and What You're Missing If You Don't

My "serum story" begins at Avon Repfest in Nashville, August 2017. I have used ANEW eye, day and night creams consistently for decades. Every once in a while. when Avon would introduce a treatment serum, I would try it, usually in place of my night cream. I wouldn't notice a difference, and I would go back to the night cream. It just didn't make sense to me to add a treatment product under a moisturizer that already had so many benefits.

Over the years, as the ravages of time and sun have made their marks on my face, I've developed some persistent dry skin patches on my nose and cheeks. No matter what products I used, they stayed, challenging the application of makeup with their flaking. I even had them checked by a doctor to make sure they weren't more disastrous.

How to Have a Successful Avon Vendor Event

The first thing you need to do is find a venue to set up your display.  I recommend starting with a free or low price table fee.  
You don't need a lot of inventory to have a successful event.  All you need are brochures, flyers or business cards and a few items for cash and carry.
You can get fancy with gift baskets, and more products, but the most important thing is to have fun, meet new people, and get contact info for your new sales and recruiting prospects.  

You can find Avon videos at your representative website, and display them on a tablet or laptop at your table.  That can help relieve shyness or uncertainty about what to say to your visitors.

You can also use games to make your display more fun and interactive.  
You can fill a container with lipstick samples and have people guess the number.  Have them provide their contact info with their guess, and award a prize end of the show for the closest guess. This is a variation on the idea of a door prize drawing. 

I found a small prize wheel on eBay for a low price, but it does the job, and attracts a lot of kids, young and old.  I use prizes that cost me less than a dollar, for example lip balms from the Avon Outlet Book, travel size hand creams, and deluxe samples.  I put a label on each prize with my contact information.  The idea is not to make money from this activity, but to get Avon products into the hands of consumers so they can try them, and contact you to order. 

Last but not least, the most important part of a vendor show is what you do after the event.  When you deliver the prize to your winner, you have the opportunity to connect with that person and offer to follow up with future campaign books.  And, you have contact information from all the people who did not win the prize.  You can call or email them to offer an Avon book or samples.  You can also get permission to add them to your email list.  Your Avon representative website has an automated email program to help you follow up with your customers.

Avon says, "Anytime, Anywhere, Always Ask."   Do your prospects need quality skin care products at a reasonable price point?  Do they need a way to earn more money?  Do they want a discount on their Avon orders?  A vendor event gives you the perfect time and place to ask guests about their Avon needs.

No Filter, Just Magix!

Avon Magix Prime, Magix Tint and Magix Wand  

What makes these products really magical is that they are flexible in their design for all skin types and colors. They condition skin with botanical extracts and do not contain sulfates, parabens or talc.  Avon's Magix products are also completely vegan, making them truly cruelty-free! (Avon does not conduct animal testing). And, all three products are made right here in the USA. 

Magix Prime was introduced a few years ago, and is now re-formulated and re-packaged.  I don't notice any difference in the performance of the product. It goes on colorless, and sets up a smooth, matte surface for applying makeup.  It is currently the only Avon product with SPF that is vegan.  It's suitable to use on its own as a sunscreen.  I think it's a product everyone can use, regardless of gender. 

Magix Tint tinted moisturizer is the second product of the collection.  It is available in six "flexible" shades.  What makes the shades flexible is that the product is semi-sheer.  It blurs skin imperfections and evens skin tone without the full coverage of a foundation.  You can apply it over Magix Prime, or use it on its own.

Last but not least, is the Magix Wand foundation stick.  It's very portable, TSA friendly for travel, and comes in 16 shades.  You can use a lighter shade than your skin as a concealer, a darker shade for contour or a matching shade for all-over face foundation.  Application is build-able for medium to full coverage.
